Heritage tourism

Start by visiting the village of Laurens with the Château of Grézan and its religious edifices. Then go off to discover the Moulins de Faugères, Béziers Cathedral, Fontcaude Abbey (a stop on the Way of Saint Jaxques de Compostella) and Valmagne Abbey. Travel along the Canal du Midi. Lose yourself in the pretty towns of Pézenas and Sète. Finally, continue your tour at Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, a little hilltop village classed among the most beautiful in France.

Oenological tourism

The Hérault is renowned for its winemaking production. Take the AOP Faugères wine road, visit the wineries and taste the wines at the Clos des Carolines, Mas Gabinèle, and Domaine Ollier Taillefer. Make a halt, too, at the Caveau des Schistes and the Caveau des Crus Faugères, which are nearby.

Nature tourism

Many walking and mountain-biking trails are accessible: the Voie Verte, the oustanding natural sites of the Gorges d'Héric, the Gorges of the Orb, the Gorges of the Hérault, Saint Guilhem le Désert, the Espinouse massif, the Cirque de Navacelle, etc. Fishing and canoeing-kayaking on the Olivettes lake and the Salagou lake.

You can also stroll through the markets and find local products. On Saturdays, at Pézenas, there's the traditional market and the organic market. On Thursdays and Sundays, there's a market renowned for its craft productions in Saint-Chinian. Don't hesitate to visit the villages around to duscover the markets, flea-markets and secondhand markets.
